Register and park a bike or scooter at Texas A&M

Students, faculty and staff pay $10 once per personal device they ride on campus. Register before bringing it to campus and use the rack map to plan where you’ll lock it.

Get a permit and display your sticker

  1. Buy the $10 device permit under My Micromobility in My Parking. Have your device’s make, style, color and serial number ready. My Parking
  2. Add your device to the Texas A&M Bike Index registry. Texas A&M Bike Index
  3. Link your permit number to your Bike Index profile. Transportation Services mails the sticker to the address you enter. Put it where it can be seen on the device.

The registration FAQ currently exempts unaffiliated visitors who park a device on campus. Campus riding and parking rules still apply. Official registration instructions and FAQ

Find a rack and lock your device

  1. Before leaving, find a rack near your destination on the official map. It also shows bike lanes and repair stations. Aggie Map bike racks and lanes
  2. Park within the marked rack area and physically lock the device to the rack. Keep stairs, ramps and entrances clear. Transportation Services says an obstruction can lead to immediate impound and a $100 fine.
  3. Take your device with you for long breaks or use the university’s summer storage option. Abandoned devices can be removed from campus racks. Bike services and storage

Yield to pedestrians and follow posted signs. Walk your device through a garage if you’re accessing an authorized bike storage area. Official riding and rack rules

Check electric-device and charging rules

Check the manufacturer’s specifications before bringing an electric device. Transportation Services caps standard campus micromobility at 750 watts and permits e-bike Classes 1 through 3 that meet its other requirements. Check the January 2016 manufacture-date cutoff and the applicable UL 2272 or UL 2849 certification for your model. For a disability-related device, consult Texas A&M Disability Services about exceptions.

Transportation Services allows indoor charging in university-controlled halls and apartments under its listed conditions. In residence halls, use the manufacturer’s charger rated at 4 amps or less, display your sticker, and follow your building’s procedures. Keep charging out of common areas, hallways and outdoor areas around residence halls. Official device and charging requirements · Residence Life storage rules
