Tuition, dorms and dining

Start with your tuition estimate and compare housing over the same time period. Add food, utilities, transportation and one-time charges before deciding what fits.

Get a tuition estimate for your program

Use the official calculator with your campus, residency, major, credit hours and tuition plan. The university’s cost of attendance also budgets for living expenses. Use the net price calculator to see a separate estimate that accounts for potential grants and scholarships.

Compare a dorm room and an apartment

Residence Life lists 2026–2027 campus housing rates by room and occupancy. Read the academic year and the billing period before comparing with an apartment. For an off-campus lease, multiply your quoted installment by the installment count and add required charges and utilities. Track any refundable deposit separately as cash you’ll need up front.

Price the meals you will actually eat

Check plan eligibility, dining hall meals, Dining Dollars and where each can be used. Use your class schedule to see which dining locations are realistic on busy days. Compare the plan price with the food you would buy or prepare outside it.
