Ask an advisor about emergency aid
Start with an Enrollment Services Advisor. The advisor can help you determine whether to request access to the application in the Financial Aid Portal.
The program has limited funds for currently enrolled students facing an immediate, unexpected hardship when other options are insufficient, unavailable or too slow. The university considers one application per student per year.
Check a Short-Term Loan for education expenses
The university lists this loan for expenses such as books, food and rent outside tuition and required fees. Published terms include 8% simple annual interest and a $10 processing charge. Repayment is due in full within the approved period, which can be one to twelve months.
After the signed promissory note and self-certification are submitted, the university requires three business days before release to the student account. If direct deposit was set up before applying, Aggie One Stop lists another three to five business days after the cancellation period for bank deposit.
Check the separate loan for tuition and fees
The Emergency Tuition and Fees Loan applies directly to the university bill once the application is approved and the required promissory note is signed. Aggie One Stop lists 5% simple interest and a $10 processing fee. Review your bill and the loan due date in your account.
Find food and course materials
For groceries, check the Pocket Pantry rooms and eligibility or The 12th Can’s next opening. For books, check the library’s digital reserves, Canvas and available physical copies at the service desk. Availability depends on the course and item.
